The OktoberFit event will take place in Enschede, at the University of Twente’s Sport Center. There are various ways to get here, depending on your transportation choice, the campus being well-served by public transport options.
Train 🚆
You can reach the University of Twente both from Enschede Central Station and Kennispark Station.
Kennispark Station is closer to the campus. You can walk, go by bus or choose to go by bike to the campus from this station.
From the Central Station you can get to the campus both by bus or bike.
Tickets are available from the ticket office or ticket machines at the every station.
Bus 🚌
From Hengelo Central Station take either bus 15 to Universiteit or bus 9 to Enschede (busses 17, 18, and 19 also pass the University).
From Enschede Central Station take either bus 1 to Universiteit or bus 9 to Hengelo
From Enschede Kennispark Station take bus 1 to Universiteit.
Travel time between the ECS and the Campus is about 20 minutes.
Travel time between the HCS and the Campus is about 15 minutes.
Travel time between the KPS and the Campus is about 10 minutes.
The tickets can be purchased on the bus.
Bike 🚴♀️
If you’re a cyclist, you can benefit from purpose-built bike lanes.
There is plenty of bike parking. You may only park your bike in the designated parking spots. The Facility Service Centre is allowed to remove bikes that are parked wrong. Motor bikes should be parked in one parking spot for a car.
Taxi 🚖
After arrival at the train station in Hengelo or Enschede, you can take a taxi to the University. In combination with your train ticket you can buy a special train-taxi ticket for only € 6. You can buy this ticket at any railway station ticket booth or machine. If you wish to travel with a train-taxi ticket you have to use the special train-taxi (NS Zonetaxi). Ask at the railway station for the train-taxi pick-up place. You normally share a train-taxi with other people.
Car 🚗
From the Netherlands or Belgium
From the A1 motorway, take the A35 motorway towards Enschede. Then take exit no.26 Enschede-West/Universiteit. Follow the signs Universiteit.
From Germany
Option 1: From the German A30, cross the border and follow the motorway (Dutch A1). Take the A35 motorway towards Enschede.
Option 2: From the German A31, follow the signs to Enschede. After crossing the border, stay on N35/A35.
Then on A35, take exit no.26 Enschede-West/Universiteit. Follow the signs Universiteit. If you use a navigation system, navigate to Drienerlolaan 5 in Enschede, Netherlands.
If you use a navigation system, navigate to De Hems 20, 7522 NL Enschede, Netherlands.
Parking on campus
The campus has several free parking facilities near the buildings. The biggest facilities are marked P1, P2 and P3 on the directional signs. It’s prohibited to park outside the parking spots.
